Monthly Book Report

 Dear Parents and Guardians,

In an effort to continually promote literacy and to develop a love of reading, your child will participate in a monthly book report program. Although students will be assigned various reading assignments within class, the following is list of additional book reports that must be completed independently at home.  Book reports are 25% of students’ grade in reading.

All students are expected to read “Just Right” books and the teacher must approve each selected book.  Each genre will be reviewed thoroughly for understanding before the book report is assigned. Please know that depending on the genre the book report format will change.  I will provide each child a format, guideline, and rubric when setting up their book report for that particular genre.
