In a policy adopted by the Bridgeport Board of Education all students in grades PK-8 beginning with the 2009-2010 school year will wear mandatory uniforms. Studies have found that school uniform policies promote school safety, improve discipline, and enhance the learning environment. The school uniform for Longfellow School consists of the colors navy, khaki and white. Girls may wear navy or khaki skirts, skorts, jumpers, shorts, or long pants and white or blue blouses with a collar. Boys may wear khaki shorts or long pants and white or blue collar shirts. Jeans are prohibited. Dress shoes are not required, but belts should be worn and shirts must be tucked in. For more information about Longfellow's school uniform, please contact our Home School Coordinator (203-367-7325) or call the school main office (203-576-8036).
