THEORY OF ACTION

 

The theory of action of Educational Leader, Gladys D. Walker-Jones, is that if we can push ALL teachers to consistently be warm demanders, we can significantly improve learning and teaching as measured by improved scholar outcomes and positive learning and teaching environments.

 

My theory of action will be realized through the fulfillment of these “ABCs”: 

 

Acceleration:  I will accelerate scholar outcomes by effectively assessing and addressing cause data to intentionally improve adult actions which directly impact on learning and teaching. 

 

Best Practices – Best Thinking:  I will maintain and effectively convey high expectations for all of our scholars in a concerted effort to model this habit of mind for all of our adults who impact on learning and teaching.  And I will consistently push for implementation of guaranteed, viable, and engaging curriculum that identifies content to be taught, the assessments that will measure scholars learning of that content, and the methods/instructions to be used in the learning and teaching process. 

 

Community:  I will pull on our stakeholders so as to recruit additional hands, hearts, and minds to assist our efforts to intentionally improve learning and teaching.  Additionally, we will “open the gate” so as to provide our scholars with authentic learning experiences and career/leadership development opportunities.
