Longfellow School, located at 139 Ocean Terrace in Bridgeport, CT, serves as a community-based school in the city's West End. The school's major focus is on improving student performance and achievement both in and out of the classroom. The school and the community work together to enhance educational activities. We are proud to announce that our hard work has paid off and Longfellow achieved the status of "Safe Harbor" which means we showed significant improvement in recent test scores.
Our mission statement states that as educators, we strive to make every effort to meet the individual needs of all students and to encourage a quest for knowledge while developing higher order thinking skills that will allow our students to achieve the full capacity for never-ending learning.
Longfellow has a population of the approximately 500 students in grades Pre-K through 8. We have a diverse population. All students, regardless of income, receive free breakfast and lunch.
