William Samuel Johnson Elementary School was built in the fall of 1954 and opened in 1955 to over 600 students. It was during the school year of 1978-1979 that a committee of administrators, community members and teachers established two schools under the Magnet School Concept (Park City Magnet-North Campus and High Horizons).

Park City Magnet- North Campus opened for the 1979-1980 school year. During the first year, enrollment consisted of studens in grades kindergarten through fifth grade. Presently the school enrollment is over 500 students.

Even though instruction is provided in all subject areas, Park City Magnet's focus is on
Science and Technology.
