Here are important items for you to know:
1. Parents please sign and have your child return their Report Card to school as soon as possible. We want to verify that you have read and discussed the report card with your child.
2. Mid-marking period Progress Reports will be given to students on Monday, March 3rd.
3. Third marking period ends on Friday, April 4th.
ELA CURRICULUM FOR THE THIRD MARKING PERIOD
Literacy - 7th grade is reading The Watsons Go to Birmingham - 1963 by Christopher Paul Curtis. 8th grade is reading "Macbeth" by William Shakespeare
Written Expression - 7th/8th grade will continue creative writing, persuasive essay writing, and Grammar mechanics, and Poetry.
PROJECT - Independent Reading Project - Students must have 10 genres/story frames completed by April 4th or their Literacy grade will be lowered 1/2 grade.
EXTRA CREDIT - LITERACY
YOUNG AUTHORS' BOOK - Due: March 28th
COMPLETION OF 16 GENRES - Due: April 4th
EXTRA CREDIT - WRITTEN EXPRESSION
WORDS ON WHEELS POETRY CONTEST - March 28th
COMPLETION OF 20 GENRES - Due: April 4th
